i made this steel a few months ago at a hammer in i attended at my cuz's house. i made it from 1095 hc, and all the random size, shape and composition, damascus cutoffs i had. i started by covering a 6'' long piece of 1/8'' 1095 with random cutoffs, then stacked another bar of 1095, and more pieces, and finally one more piece of 1095. most of the cutoffs had nickle in them, but after welding and folding the core is 1095. the handle is birdseye maple, and pins are nickle silver.

o.a. length is 8 1/4'', with a 3 3/4'' blade. it's approx 3/16'' thick and flat ground.

thanks for look'en
