I made this 4.5" blade out of 75% O1 toolsteel drill rod and 25% 1045 rod. I twisted it like cable, forged it flat and folded it a couple times. I call it "controlled cable".

I stippled the brass guard and gave this little user an osage orange handle from a local tree.

It gives a rather bland pattern but it sure cuts like the dickens!

I've gotta go along with that. Looks good to me. Not crazy about osage orange but that's just a matter of personal preference. I like the stippling. I once stippled the frontstrap on a 45, got carried away and damn near stippled the whole lower.

She looks absolutely Beautiful !!!!!
Built for work but has a classy elegance that any show girl would want..

Looks good Greg, the damascus, guard, shape and handle material, flow real nice, bet it fits the hand great too. I guess I'm going to have to get one of those NC forges, so I can try my hand at damascus.

Keep'em comin

A real good looking knife that in my opinion could look nicer with a different handle material. The shape of the handle is very functional and it probably works well, but for me antler or stag would be best and some of the fancier woods would also improve the appearance. The damascus looks real good. I like the simple pattern. Even though I have criticized this knife a little, I do however like it a lot. The blade shape is a personal favorite, the guard is great and the damascus is wonderful IMO. A little nicer handle and in books you would have a real winner.

Nice knife. Osage orange is not the prettiest wood, but it IS tough as nails. That knife should last someone a lifetime and then some.

Bland pattern?! Come on, I know knife makers can sometimes be over critical of there work, but that looks great.

I am not a real big fan of any kind of wood handle, but on some knives it 'works' for me. That Osage Orang realy 'works' for me.

Great knife and keep'm comming.

BTW, how did you stipple the gaurd?
