This is the first one of the year for me,
It is a 4 bar basket weave mosaic of 88 layers of 1084 and 15n20 twisted tightly then cut into thirds for a 3 bar composite all twisted the same way,( has a nice chantoyance to it) the handle is stabilized juniper burl with copper fittings and pin. The sheath is cow rawhide I made myself lined with brain tanned buckskin studded with copper,
next one with a blade like this I'm going to go with a few less layers and not twist so tightlyand alternat the twists to contrast alittle more and maybe shorten the ricasso alittle, what do yo guys think? thanks for looking

I think I love it!!!! All of it! Sheath is very cool! I really like the "Fine" pattern of the Damascus.

Nice - awesome sheath too! Great package. Shorter ricasso? I'd say yeah. Liking the tightly twisted fine pattern damascus though -- it might not show so well from a distance, but up close and personal it's pretty sweet.

Wow! Great looking knife, beautiful sheath. They really look good together. Love the copper. Where did you get the copper studs for the sheath?

Pat

Pat I made the studs by upsetting copper wire then spinning the head and polishing them like making a rivet ( you could use coppper rivet or spots if you could find them, I just used what I had on hand ) then split it and bent them over.

Thanks Horacio
