Picked up the Kershaw product catalog yesterday (great looking book!!) I laughed out loud as I sat in my car thumbing through the pages. Funny how time changes everything- it was almost like sneaking a peek at those un-named 'gentlemen's magazines' you had as a teen. Strange what peaks my interest now that I am pushing 40 !!
Anyway- I had a question about the Damascus Steel Knives. Either I am blind or I don't see them available in the book. I have yet to see one at a sporting goods store or the Kershaw site either. Maybe I am not looking hard enough, but anyone have an idea of how one goes about aquiring such a beautiful masterpiece? If it is really obvious and I am just missing it I apologize and hope to not be ridiculed too much.

don't feel ridiculed just google the knife you want and check out the dealers. my fav's are New Graham Knives, Knifecenter and The Kershaw Store. also posting something in the wanted ads in the exchange forums might yield damascusness.

good luck!

The Damascus knives are not a standard production item.
They (all 3, hoping for the Shallot) were made for a large distributor.

The Leeks were out first with a shipment of 493, if memory serves and then another shipment of 500.

Chives were next with 500 pieces, closely followed by the Scallions with another 500 pieces.

There are still some out and about.
Good hunting.

you wont see half of the models talked about on this forum in the catalog or the website because of their being special runs. always ask first just to be on the safe side would be my advice.

Thanks for being nice. I did see one Damascus out there on the web. I just have never seen one in the flesh yet.
