Long form: Just got back from the Marietta Art in the Park for Labor Day weekend. We came across a booth from ArborNovo, which had some very aesthetically pleasing kitchen knives. They were fanned out on a magnetic wood cutaway. Wife expressed a lot of interest so we talked to the gentleman selling them. He mentioned proprietary twist process this and that, and my brain turned off at that point. I have enough of "proprietary" bullshit from building computers for 35 years. Anyway, his Damascus was more grinder etching of a pattern than actual acid bringing out anything (i could feel a raised pattern, when I was expecting a flat ground surface). We have watched enough Forged in Fire to understand the process but enough to identify good knives by eye. So I googled for reviews and ended up here. No real reviews just a mention of Pakistan knives being sold as made in the US, with one member mentioning to buy from people on the forums vs some random company.
Anyway, these are similar to what we were looking at:

I don't have an issue with the price for a set of unique looking knives. Forgive me as well if I am mistaken, and they are 100% real and high quality.
If anyone can point out a few knife makers that sell similar, or I can talk to about an order... that would be very much appreciated.
I will continue to peruse the forums as well but thought I'd ask folks who know much more than I.
Thanks in advance,
J
