Damascus kitchen knives

Hi, everybody,
2 kitchen knives in random damascus, 02 and 15N20 300 layers, warthog and ebony
for the big one : 8 1/2 inches for the blade and 4 5/8 inches for the handle
for the little one : 5 1/4 inches for the blade and 4 inches for the handle

How rust resistant are those damascus knives? Do you have to spend extra time and effort to maintain them in an kitchen environment? Just some newbie question. They may be too pretty to be used in a kitchen :)

Those knives will become oxidised, they come a little bit more black
When you use carbon steel, you put oil when you have finished to work , so you will not have rust but just oxidation.

Nice looking knives.
I like the profile with the long pointy tip.
I use the tip quite a bit when cutting vegetables and it looks like these would be enjoyable to use.
