As everyone is gearing up for Blade, I figured I'd post this baby up !!

I've admired Claude Bouchonville's work for awhile here, so I got in touch with him and we discussed various versions of his Koltan.

This is what he came up with :D It just arrived... and it is Amazing!

10" blade, 15" overall length. I supplied him with the Koa from my stash :D

Beautifully finished, and light in the hand especially considering the size. I'd say he hit it out of the park

The pictures are Claude's, not my amateurish efforts thank God :p

I share your appreciation for Claude's work, especially the Koltan. It was one of my nominees for last year's best bowie contest. Such beautiful flowing lines complemented by one of the most esthetically pleasing handle designs I've seen (and great Koa!). Very nice damascus, too. Congratulations.

The Koltan is one of my all time favorite designs....the lines are extraordinary, and yours is magnificent! :)

I got mine from Claude early last year....not a 10" blade of Damascus and hafted in Koa, but it was his first knife with a hamon....he worked with Sam Lurquin.

Dudley

that was the one that made my mind up - and actually led to much thinking too!

I was torn between Damascus and the Hamon....in the end, I let Claude decide !

Maybe I need one of each?:D

Is your sheath from him? He did one for mine and it is very nice

Great minds ya know.... ;)

Yes, not only does Claude excel at Bladesmithing, his leather work is First Rate.

Here's one that made my Heart Strings flutter....might be coming to Atlanta with him....the first sub-hilt I've seen from him.

I really like the Korean and each version is interesting and appealing. I am a fan of Claude's work. I really like his Damascus. Congratulations Bill. Dudley, yours is stunning also.

That sub-hilt version is amazing!

Dang! Those are all perfectly gorgeous. On my bucket list for sure now. Thank you for sharing. Mike

Beautiful Knife Bill. Very nice work as usual Claude.
I was just noticing the differences between yours and mine.
I like them both.
