The blade centering on my brand new Damascus Leek is so far off-center toward the locking side that I can't pass a piece of paper between the tip and the side of the safety when the safety is disengaged. The tip does NOT rub against the safety yet, but I'm concerned that it will with use. Fortunately, I bought my Leek from the right "guy" and he's offered to replace it for me. The blade figuring on my Leek is truly exemplary, however, and I'm concerned that the replacement won't be nearly as nicely figured as the one I have now.
I suspect the problem has to do with the fact that the blade isn't cut dead straight. I say that because I can barely pass a piece of paper between the blade and the scale on the non-locking side of the knife. So to say that the clearances are tight on both sides of the blade is something of an understatement.
Fortunately, i've got several other EDCs in the same size range as the Leek, so I wouldn't have to use it for anything much heavier than opening boxes and envelopes and removing shrink wrap . . . assuming I use it for anything at all.
Given my circumstances, what would you do . . . keep it or return it?
