Despite all of the recent great news and exciting happenings in the balisong world

from what I have seen coming from the Atlanta Blade Show it looks like there's no new news about production damascus (or "pattern welded") balisongs?

Did I miss something, or does someone have some damascus bali news from the show they can post?

&nbsp;&nbsp; What I recall seeing on the forum as potential damascus bali happenings in the near future (not including the excellent high-end balis, such as from <a href="http://www.darrelralph.com">Darrel Ralph</a>):<ul>[*]The <a href="http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum47/HTML/001665.html">"I Spy" thread</a> with "Damascus and Ti are in the works".
[*]blade_420's custom bali, "a 4" damascus bladed double edged wide belly spearpoint bali with 440SS skeleton handles with Torx, pivot washers, latch gate, etc, for around $200." It should be due in before too long, and blade_420 has promised us pics, an evaluation, and the maker's identity.
[*]And possibly from Chuck's <a href="http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum47/HTML/001630.html">"Latest Photo Intelligence" thread</a> where he never revealed the source of the blades in the photos?[/list]

&nbsp;&nbsp; What did I miss (other than the current Bear balis)? I had hoped that some of the news BM was waiting to release at the show would be about damascus as a future option, but while I saw a post about a kris blade in the future (which is excellent news), nothing about damascus ...

Chefget: Is that one of the Pabu balisongs? Looks really nice.

BTW, do you flip any of your balisongs that are on your website?

Thanks

I remember seeing three very interesting pieces at the show...unfortunately i have no photos and no good details, but here goes...They were by an asian custom maker, and were extremely decorative. Two of the three were about 8 inches in length, and the other was about 2 inches. The blades on all three were damascas, and the tang area of each was very decorative also. The blade of the small one actually had a couple designs cut out of the center of it...one was a heart i believe. I dont know the material of the handels, but there were very large and thick, starting thick at the ends and the middle, and getting slightly thinner inbetween. they had beatiful desings, possible painted on, and were very heavy. they also had large, and i cant remember, but they may have been damascas latches. I recall the price on the small 2 incher to be about $2300 bucks, so i can only imagine what the larger ones were. again, sorry, but hopefully somebody will be able to back me up with some pictures...
