After check CRK site, there have some Damascus Options, Raindrop, Twist, Ladder or Pinstripe Damascus made by Devin Thomas and Spirograph Damascus blade.

I know the rain drop, but how about the others? Can you please show me the PIC so I will have a clear picture about what I want. Thanks a lot.

Here's a 1999 burl wood inlay DT spirograph bronze...

This one has a Devin Thomas blued Pinstripe damascus blade and an Iolite inlay.

The two photos from Chetchat are Devin Thomas Ladder Damascus. The link to the knifeart JPEG above is Spirograph, and the Rocky Mountain is Ladder. See the posted pic in the 2000 Gold Coin Sebenza thread for a photo of Raindrop.

jki,

You are so right : I took a look at the guarantee card, "bronze ladder".

Thanks for the correction!

Hi, Just wondering where all the good damascus knifes are that are for sale. From what I have seen there are not too many sites with these immediatly avalible for purchase.

Speaking of hard to find does anybody know where there are going to be 2000 Gold Coin Sebbbies for sale??? Not a whole lot of them around for sure. Thanks

Since the Gold Coin Sebenzas are by subscription only, the only way to get one is on the secondary market, or by getting on the waiting list (e-mail Anne Reeve at CRK) and waiting for an opening. If you do find one on the secondary market, ask the seller if he is giving you his place on the subscription, as the purchaser of each GC Sebenza is given first rights to obtain the same number the following year. The seller may be just selling one particular knife, without giving up his place in the subscription, so be sure to ask. Anne told me that the reason the subscription was expanded from previous years' 12 knives to this year's 20 is because there were 30 people waiting on the list to get on! Good luck. These pieces are rare and beautiful!

Joe:
Also be aware that the blue and bronze damascus are for show only. Almost anything except water will discolor them. If you intend to use the knife, get the plain damascus. The colored ones are beautiful but they are not users.

I’m glad to say that I am one of the lucky people who benefited from the decision to expand the run of GCS’s to 20 for this and future years. I own a few Chris Reeve folders already, but this is my first one in damascus and I must say it is stunning. I am glad that the blade is not tinted, as I already fear even minor contact as it is. The knife is definitely a showpiece.

I say go for the wood, go for the gold, and go for the bronze. Here is the gold:

The accessories in the photo are my grandfather's 1881 Elgin pocket watch in a gold Hunter case, a 1/4 oz. K-rand, and a 1/10 oz. Isle of Mann coin with a Manx cat on it.

Ah Walt:

Beautiful knives. I see you've got them displayed on one of my favorite shirts!

Of course, usually, Mad Dog and folders don't get mentioned in the same breath! Let's not be starting up a fire here!

Sniper308; you are absolutely right, and I am chagrined. You see, I just tossed one of my 8 yo son's t-shirts on a table which had some reading lights set up on it (for lighting the pics). I absolutely didn't realize that it was a Knifegnugen t-shirt until you mentioned it!

I just don't know how this happened

; it must have been that thread about whether you would buy a Mad Dog or a Sebenza if you had $700 to spend. It was probably subliminally affecting me.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Walt
