So I'm going to have a bit of extra money so I'm probably going to break two of my personal rules 1) knife in knife out and 2) don't buy knives you don't need these rules apply to all my gear oriented hobbies so knives aren't special in this instance...anyway...IF I buy another Sebenza do I go inlay or Damascus if I go inlay I'll probably go with the CF inlay if I go Damascus I'll probably go KA CF.

So CRK forum which one Inlay or Damascus? It's going to be used so resale really isn't a concern.

I'm still a noob around here, but I love me some inlaid 21!
Out of curiosity, are you thinking large or small?

KA CF Damascus all day if you speak of a large version
For a small version it can be more tricky
I have a large inkosi from KA and a small insingo 21 with inlays

I wear medium size gloves and I see no use of inlays on the large inkosi
The weight reduction provided by the CF scales makes it a wonderful knife to carry

In my small Sebenza insingo I like thé micarta inlays a lot
They provide some more traction and they make the knife a little bit more substantial in hand which IMO is great

Inlay would be my choice. The Damascus is going to be more expensive and IMO, more of a looker than practical knife. For me, the extra money for Damascus isn't worth it being a daily user. I'd much rather spend the extra for a nice inlay.
I've got several Damascus CRK's and only one gets used on a regular basis. And that because I bought it used and it has some fade spots. I thought no CRK will re etch the blade only one time. And they do lose the etching color with regular use.

I've heard you shouldn't use DT Damascus for food prep, I don't know if it's true but that maybe something to consider. If the choices are CF inlay or Cf Damascus I'd go with CF Damascus.

Something about the acid in some foods effects the blade if not washed immediately. I don't know how true this is though and I've never used Damascus for prep.

I have a small bocote, and a large beech. I love them both!!!! But, and people don't mention too often, the polished blades attract finger prints and smudges like crazy. I love them both but every time you pull it out to show someone it looks a bit dirty. Almost hurts me to say that but it's most defenetly true. I carry my regular stonewashed 21's much much more often and to tell you the truth it may just be because of that small small annoyance ... anyways, something to keep in mind is all

As I mentioned in another post recently, I EDC my large Damascus 21. Though it's a bit more expensive than a plain blade, my choice is two-fold. First, I like the look of the blade and carrying it daily means more opportunities to look at it. Second, if while responsibly using my knife, someone mentions the unusual blade, I will use that as an opportunity to engage the person in a little knife talk. I'll briefly explain how the blade was made and the thought/care put into its construction. When they continue asking questions, I know I'm not just boring them with my personal interests. I've been able to introduce a number of folks to the world of quality knives in this way. To me, the ability to have a conversation about knives with a non-knife person is priceless.
