Damascus patterns: chaos/entropy vs. extreme order?

I have a crazy idea... multi bar knife. I want the spine of the blade to symbolize chaos or entropy by the pattern. I want the edge of the knife to symbolize order. I've got a secret thing that'll go in between to separate the order from the chaos.

What patterns should I consider for order and chaos? I'd like to not have to tile or mosaic, no end patterns.

This may just be me but what about a San mai style blade, what if you tried doing a twisted pattern then added raindrop after the twist use that for the cladding representing chaos then use a really refined steel for the core representing order like white paper steel? I don’t know it could be cool or the Damascus might not work the way I’m thinking in my head.

I could do a 5 layer and get a similar effect on the sides of the blade. It is important to have three distinct patterns, chaos, a wall, and order.

I would suggest a four bar Turkish twist for the Chaos a section of side layer (tight stripes) for the Border, and tight twist for the Order.

These are all fairly easy to make using 1084 and 15N20.

I can’t really see feather working for this one.
I was thinking about feather as an option for the order layer...but you know what your 'secret' transitional layer is going to be and what will work with that.

Chaos?
Uneven layerst start off, throw all your pieces in a bucket, shake em up then pull them out and stack em up without ordering them.

Then weld, fold a random number of times, twist a couple of times, then forge it out into a bar, add a couple ladder type stripes, drill some water drops, then forge it back out.

Chaos.
