Howdy ya'll,
This is a little penknife I had at Blade. I just got my CD back from PointSeven so I thought I would post up.
The blades are from either side of a really tight feather pattern and the mammoth ivory scales are awesome. The frame is 416SS. Closed, its about 3 3/8".

John - e-mail me the pic: rogerpinnock@cogeco.ca - I'll post it up for you.

I remember that little knife from the show - can't believe you pulled off that pattern in such small blades.

Man, that's a nice slip joint. I got to see this one first hand at Blade. Smooth as silk. Lin

Oooooh, that is stunning!!! The colors in the Mammoth ivory are so beautiful & so is the incredible Damascus.

OK, gang. Here goes the brag, and the lament.

That's my knife,(or was). I commissioned John to make me another folder to join the beautiful lockback I got from him awhile back. I supplied the Mammoth, and when he called and said he was ready to go to work, I told him to surprise me.

John brought this little gem to Blade, and when I showed it to Jill, she said that pen-knife pattern was what her father carried all his life, in a case yellow-handle. I got a Paul Long pocket sheath for it, and was so happy.

The next thing I knew, it vanished into Jill's purse, and she's been carrying it ever since, showing it off at work, saying " Look what John Perry made ME!"

Waahhhh----she lets me look at it from time to time, but she watches me like a hawk, all the while.

Its really cute!

Thanks, J.P.,

John

I also got to see it at the BLADE Show. It's a beauty alright. And sure, it looks nice in the photo, but seeing it up close is a whole 'nother experience.

Although I was :grumpy: disappointed to learn that it was already spoken for, Mr. Perry, it must feel great to know that another very talented multi-award-winning ABS Mastersmith wants your work!

Mr. White, your taste is impeccable - as evidenced by your own outstanding blades and also by your ability to spot exceptional talent around you. I can empathize with your dilemma because the same thing happend to me with one of John's small folders. My wife carries it every day (seriously, every single day). The only time I even catch a glimpse of it is on her dresser at night.

Buddy, it kind of reminds me of the beautiful piece your wife picked up from John at the last Reno Show.

I know you guys love the fact that your wives really appreciate fine custom knives.
The only customs my wife appreciates are the ones she uses in the kitchen. :(

Another got to handle and see it at the show. Just a great prn knife and smooth, smooth, smooth. But come on John tell everyone what you called the damascus pattern.

Hmmm...I didn't notice that one John. I saw a couple of folders but didn't notice that one on your table. VERY nice.

I'm gonna borrow this one back and take a "family" shot of it and John P's lockback, together with their Paul Long tiny leathers. Post it up tomorrow.

I called the damascus Squirrel Fur. When I took the W's for the feather to 27 square it got fine as squirrel fur. Its actually a term for very tight patterns I remembered from years ago coined by the Squirrel Sniper of Pope County, Ron Newton.

Promised to post up the John Perry treasures with their Paul Long mini-sheaths here in John's threads. Here you go. Thanks, John and Paul.

I love 'em,

Howdy ya'll,
Thanks to all for your kind remarks. And special thanks to John White for carrying my knives and showing them off. I really like the little Paul Long pouches too. I talked to him about making me some with alligator belly hide. They should be buttery smooth.
