Damascus pin material

You can make a pin this way.Take a piece of damascus about twice the thickness of the desired pin.cut square strips as long as desired (the longer the better).Forge them round by starting with the corners (making it octagonal) and then proceeding until it is fairly round and a bit larger than you want.Chuck it in a drill and using a file, round it up and trim it to exact size.You can make it smoother if you need it that way by doing the final sizing with 220 grit emery paper.
