Damascus pricing.

I'm looking to get a Damascus blade for a mini griptilian but I don't know what to pay. I've found a ladder Damascus blade but want to be informed before I commit. Is there a range I should aim for? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
It is very hard to say. Depending upon the quality, composition, complexity and pattern you could pay from 10 to 15 bucks an inch to well over 80 an inch. I would stick to a known source since there seems to be a lot of junk being mass produced. Make sure the bar is as thick and as long as you need to get the blade profiled.

How long is the 75 dollar blade and who made it?
 
I've ordered several fixed blades from Mr. Leavitt and I've been very happy with them. As for his folder blades, I'm sure the quality is the same but from what I've heard they may require a little filing for a good fit.
