Hi Guys,

I just finished a Damascus Quillion Dagger. The steel is 1080 & 15n-20 and it is 320 layers. Blade and all furniture were made from the same bar. The handle is Tanzanian Rosewood. I opted to go for a smooth handle on this one, but I will be practicing fluting/wire inlay over the next few months. There are more pictures and information about the knife on my site.

-Really- great knife!

Fuad - did you perhaps use the ancient method of creating true damascus or wootz steel? ;)

Please tell us more about your star logo! I think I've seen it regularly somewhere else before...

Thanks Guys,

This is pattern welded "Damascus" . My star is a common theme in art in architecture in the far and middle east. It is often used in arabesques. Many of the domed palaces in the middle east use it in construction. It has been used by the Knights Templar. It is also known as the star of prosperity. My ancestral ties to the middle east and to the Knights Templar made me decide to use it as the mark of my trade. I've been told that my mark is very recognizable.

Fuad,
that knife is quite beautiful, and the story of your star is interesting, to say the least. If and when we ever get together, I would love to hear the entire story.

You did a terrific job here Fuad - knife and sheath are both excellent.
