damascus re-blade removed from price list? - EDIT it is available on service list

It looks like the option to have your normal bladed knife sent in to be refitted with a Damascus blade has been removed from the latest price list. Has anyone ever used this service?

It's still on the "Service" list. $285, and if I recall correctly you have to wait a year and send your knife to CRK for fitting.

Thanks Alan. Maybe that's where it was always listed, in which case my bad. I've been half thinking about getting a damascus blade for one of my 21s so was wondering if that service was still offered.

At $285 my thought was buy a large …… A good shopper can get a LG Damascus used in the $500 range , then you have 2 knives not just one to change blades in… Not to mention the year wait to be without your knife. I sent in a small classic to be re-bladed… settled on SV35+ serrations… Think it was $165 ish… been a month &1/2 , but….. it's not like I don't have a few to rotate EDC until she returns…..

I had this done to a small regular Sebbie several years ago. They email you when they are ready to perform the upgrade so you don't have to do without your knife for months at a time. I had planned to only use the Damascus blade for light cutting but it has been in place since I purchased it.

The idea of later getting a damascus blade sounds very appealing.
