help!!!!! how can i resharp my damascus blade? which is the best way? which are the best products for it?

I use my 1" belt sander with a worn out very fine belt to renew the edge. Then I use my ceramic cross-sticks in a straight up and down slicing motion the whole length of the blade in a fast mode to finish. Works every time for me.

Just like any other knife. Unless your asking because you don't know how to sharpen any knife. In that case, Practice on a Damascus knife might not be the best way to go. Mike

What Mike Lovett said. Go here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=794 and read some if needed, you can find plenty of info.
I sharpen my knives on (start to end):
1. Fine DMT diamond plate (red)
2. Extra fine DMT diamond plate (green)
3. Belgian water stone (don't know the grit, it's very fine)
4. Leather

No matter the blade material, I cut into the stone on steps 1 to 3, away from the stone in step 4. I never get a nice burr that breaks off all along the edge, but I get a very sharp and nicely polished edge anyway.

Flava, that is what I really like about diamaod stones. You dont usually get the typical burr on a high hardness blade when using them. and when you really get down to it, the metal that would normaly make up the burr, is wasted metal. Its a win win with the diamaon stones. another advantage, when you are working a softer blade, the micro teeth put onto the edge by the diamonds will allow the softer blade to cut much better, and a lot longer!
