Another big one! This one is Thunder Forge damascus blade. O1 liners heat colored, fileworked, and hardened in the wear spots. The scales are stag-jigged, dyed bone. 6" closed and 10 1/4" open.

Sorry for the dark pictures.

that is a VERY nice knife steve...........looks really cool closed too........however: I have to say I dont like that bump on the top when its open..........but thats just me.......you are a great knifemaker and I hope you continue to do what you want and not listen to an old fart like me!!!!!!!! :p

I just read your byline at the bottom so I guess you can feel good about my post!!!! :D

Wow. I really like my pearl Rockie, but this one is pretty darn cool.

The "bump" works for me as a thumb rest.

Very Nice Steve!

I took a little of that yellow out to give a better perspective of the contrast.

Also sharpened the pixels a little.

Thank you Gary. That grind is the hardest to get right that I've ever ground.

Tom, thank you very much you've probably saved me some woe. The humped-back blade is the design of Rocky Mosier. I made these on special order in two sizes for Rick Wichman (aka The Knife Guy, aka the switchblade.com). It seems that he's not the only one who liked the style.;)

Gabe, I'm glad that you still like yours. This one's going to the same place you got yours. Thanks for the compliment.

Hey Nic, COOL! Maybe someday I'll get the hang of this digital stuff. It's not the camera (Ricoh RDC 4200) it's just the operator. Thanks for the tweek!:)

Ira, glad you liked it! It's good to hear from you again.:D

One of the things that i really like about this knife is what gives it that humpback look, the offset blade. I also think the damscus looks great.

Thanks Dylan, I guess we were posting atb the same time last night.

Thank you Keith. I don't a great amount of damascus, but I may be doing more of it later on. I'd like to try some of the "stainless" damascus too.

Steve

Gabe,
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Do you like it more or less than the pearl one? I haven't made but a very few using damascus and even fewer knives with filework. Thanks again.

Steve

The pearl and mirror polish Rocky is really great, but I like this combination quite a bit more. There's a warmth and a depth to the damascus and dyed bone that I have seen in very few knives. I almost never make these kind of comparisons, but it really reminds me of a great pipe tobacco or Macallan 18 year-old scotch.

I am humbled by your comparison although I've never had one of my pieces compared quite that way. I am grateful for your praise. Thank you!

Being somewhat color impared or partially color blind, I don't always know how others will see my work. It does me good to know I've got something right. :D
