Its Purdy like the second poster said.
Just being a pattern welded carbon steel, it doesn't hold a edge any better that a single carbon steel or any of the other magical properties like some like to state, that depends on the steels used and the excellence of the Heat Treatment.
But it's very beautiful and can show the forger's skill in the forging and manipulation of the pattern and it can take the beholder back to a time when that was really the only way to make a weapon or tool that would hold an edge and not shatter on impact.
That's the attraction.
