Damascus Strider Knife:
Hi friends. Did this custom knife this week for a customer and wanted to show it off. Hope you like it. First time working with Damascus. I’m pretty proud of it. I’ll be adding it to the web site sometime this weekend.

Shop Details:
5160 Spring Steel cut out and Normalized @ 1500 degrees until non magnetic, then quenched in quality oil. Tempered the blade @ 350 degrees for 1 hour, letting it air cool and repeating once more. Blade was file tested and is shown to be very hard. Got the Damascus from Alabama Damascus.

Measurements:
Total Length = 20“
Blade Length = 13 ¾ “
Blade Width = 2 1/8 “
Blade Thickness = 3/16 “
Handle Length = 6 ¼ ”
Handle Width = 1 ¼ “
Handle: Tiger Maple Wood
Elvish writing on the handle that says “The One”
Weight = 1 lb 3 oz
Hand stitched Leather Sheath

Can you elaborate on the steel? Is it 5160 or damascus. What are the components in the damascus? Thanks!

Ooops. Sorry guys. I didn't put all the different layers of steel:

So here it is: Material = (4) layers 5160, (3) layers 203E, (3) layers 52100, (3) layers 15N20 folded 5 times for 416 damascus layers
 
While it's not my style, I have to comment that I like how your work is progressing. That's a well finished piece!
