Very nice :)

Like the shape and the contrast you got with those materials.

Do you use a checkering file to do the filework on the liners?

Matt,
Yes I use a checkering file for the filework on the liners next to the backsprings. Appreciate your comments.
Thanks, Don

That is a beautiful trapper. The contrast between the Damascus and ivory really makes it special. What material did you use as a spacer with the ivory?

Gorgeous Don.., the filework is really nice.., and I also like the flair on the back of the scaling.....really nice work!

That's a real beauty, Don. :D I like the angled bolster face.

I have the priviledge of owning one of Don's pieces, and I gotta tell you; he doesn't miss a thing. These knives are as clean in construction and fitment as I have seen from just about anyone notable. And BOY do I get the chance to handle a lot of customs!

Keep it up, Don, and keep me on your hit list for your three-bladed pattern!

Coop

Thanks for the kind words Wray, Pete, and Coop. I have Coop's knife on the homepage of my website. His pictures (which I really appreciate) make the knife look great. Wray, the spacer material is some type of high tech spacer material I bought at the Austin knife show. I'm not sure what it is but it works well when cemeted to ivory.
Thanks, Don

Don, no matter what the spacer material is, used with the ivory it adds a distinct touch of visual drama. I'm going to have to accelerate my savings program toward another of your knives. Seeing this new one tonight has really aggrevated the itch.

The Trapper continues to be my all time favorite pattern and that one is a beaut.......others come and go, but a nice Trapper just trips my trigger...nicely done. larryd

Appreciate any comments.
How about heartstopping! That damascus pattern is gorgeous! The filework too, the whole piece just has me drooling here (or maybe that's the macaroni and cheese I'm having for dinner). Still, nice work, I'd love to be able to afford something that nice. Keep 'em coming!

Nice work Don, I really enjoyed spending time with you at the Austin Show, Keep up the good work, & God bless you & yours, Dwayne

The pattern on that damascus looks like things I saw in the sixties with a little bit of chemical help.

I am going to ask what may seem like a stupid question here. Is it an optical illusion or does the clip blade angle away from the spey towards the end of the blades?

Thanks for the great comments Larry, Kurt, Dwayne, and Keith. Dwayne, I really enjoyed our visit and your knives at the Austin show. Keith, both clip and spey blades are ground so that they are tapered from about the middle of the blade out to the point. So it is part illusion and part tapering. If the clip blade did curve away from the spey blade or if the blades curved away from each other, the blades would strike the liners when closed. Both blades on this knife are perfectly centered when closed and do not touch the liners on either side.
Thanks, Don
