Hello folks,

About a 6 weeks or so ago, I put in an order for a Sebbie with a custom graphic. Today I was talking to the wife how since I am spending some much on this one already, and it is to be one of my ultimate knives, its a shame that I didn't ask for a Damascus blade on it. So as soon as I got home I called CRK thinking if they didn't start it yet, I could still upgrade. I missed them by a few minutes and left a message. So here is my question. I am having a hard time waiting till tomorrow with it. If you had to guess, (I KNOW ITS ONLY A GUESS) How much extra would you say a Damascus blade would run???

Second question, I saw somewhere someone had a second blade (Damascus) for his Sebbie, Does CRK sell just the blade?? Thanks

Bad Guy:

I got a raindrop damascus upgrade for a small limited edition wood inlay and it was $150.00 (and a years wait). They did a really good job. The damascus they use is top notch. I've had no trouble with rusting but I take pretty good care of my knives. A little RIG every so often and it keeps it nice. It cuts as well as the S30V at least for light applications and I expect that it would perform well as an EDC providing of course that you take the time to keep it clean. As I have said a number of times I really like the large Sebbie that Tom did for me, I think you have one too. That one is getting most of my pocket time. Anyway the damascus will really dress up the knife and should serve you well. The problem is that they don't always have the damascus available. You can get your knife with the S30V blade and have the damascus put on later. The benefit of that is that they send you back the S30V blade so that you can exchange them as it suits your purpose. As you know each blade has to be hand fitted. Good luck! Yes CRK sells the blade but the knife has to be sent in to have it fitted. In fact that is what I did with my inlay:) ;)

Thanks Scott. I think if the small was $150 years ago, it only makes sense that the Lrg now would be a good bit more. I am sure its worth it, however I don't think I could afford that upgrade right now. I will still talk to them tomorrow to see what I am looking at exactly. I will most likely get it with the SV30V and send it in, in the future. This knife I am having made is more of a safe queen with a design I really wanted. My Mayonized Sebbie will maintain its spot as my primary EDC Thanks Again:)

Just got off the phone with the folks at CRK. They have damascus on back order unitl mid to late July. The price for an additional Damascus blade to be made for a Lrg Sebbie is $160. So I think that is well worth it and plan on taking advantage of this option in the future. I was also able to find out that my knife is in the work and I am looking at 2-3 more weeks :) I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
