I'm curious, what's with damscus steel? What are it's pros and cons? What makes it so expensive? Thanx for your beneficial replies. BTW, any of you like to see a Damascus butterfly knife?

I don't know a whole lot about it, other than it's layered steel, and it looks great. I think it's a lot more expensive because it has to be handmade. I imagine it is very time consuming. The reason that you see the layers has something to do with the carbon content.
Anyway, if you think that's cool wait until you see the damascus with little pictures in it. Absolutely fricking amazing.
I've seen them with flowers, little faces, and stars and moons all within the metal.
