Have always like Tony's Zulu pattern. I talked to Tony last Fall about it and he offered to send a pattern, but I never got around to asking him for it. Had a guy wanting one in damascus and mammoth ivory, so this is what I came up with. I may have to make a few more. :D

Thanks for lookin and let me know what ya think.

Don, it's killer! Whenever I see one of your knives, I want it, but never more so than this.
Great great job.

Big, Tony Bose makes a pattern he calls a Zulu, based off an old Schrade pattern.
This one is very close to the same pattern Tony makes.

Thanks for the good words folks!!!

Magnificent knife Don!:)
Please can you tell us a little about the Damascus?

Thanks
Steven

Stunning!! I can't really single out anything because it's all so nice but that ivory... wow.

Steven, the blade and spring are made from 1084/15N20 at around 200 layers, with a deep pressed in ladder pattern. You can tell the depth of pattern manipulation by looking at the top of blade and spring, this would be the edge of the billet.
The bolster are W pattern made from 1084, 15N20 and 203E. Thanks for asking.

Sheesh. That's as nice a damascus ladder pattern as I can remember seeing, and those scales--Oh my god! I'm bedazzled.

Don, I would say you eyeballed Tony's pattern quite well! That modified wharncliffe blade makes a slipjoint talk. Your damascus took this one to a different level. There is a very happy pocket knife/Hanson fan out there someplace. What a treat when this one arrives. Super job!
