Damascus

I'm interested in knowing how to make Damascus, the basics any hints?

Mykl, The short answer goes like this. You start with by stacking layers of differing carbon content steels/metals. These are then forge welded/ brought to welding temp's and hydraulicly pressed together, forming a solid mass of laminated steel. The resulting steel is then cut, shaped, heat treated, finished as a knife/jewelery. It's actually a little more time consuming than this, but thats the "basic" idea.
