Anyone carry and use a Buck 110 with Damascus?

Or just collect them. How does it do as a using steel?

I carry one that looks a lot like the pic in your sig line except damascus of course.

I love it, sharpens easy and cuts great for a long time. Always has a "toothy" feel to the edge which I think really improves it's cutting ability.

I have a 560 with a damascus blade in it waiting for me at home that I can't wait to try.

Only downside I see to it currently is cost.

Hey Bear...
What OC said so far as the "toothy" edge.
I have a 1989 110 Damascus in my EDC rotation.
Great knife to use...stays sharp and a breeze to touch up.

Starting today it is being rotated out and replaced with the newer SS raindrop dam. I have used my Koa Dam, but only lightly.
This new one, the Dam Ram, will be put to the test...will see how that works.

I 'won' a new Bear MGC 597D for ~$60 delivered on evil-bay from a dealer - not for fine cuts, but that layered steel (512 layers) cuts well on the pull. It's just a bit thicker than a 110 - probably the Sambar Stag scales. My teardrop Damascus/Koa CS 110 is too pretty to EDC - but seems to have a finer edge. My Kershaw Damascus Leek, an Aug '07 goodie for ~$70, does see some EDC - it's a bit finer than the Bear - but still cuts better on the blade pull across the material. The Bear and the Leek have Damascus made by Bear's 'Alabama Damascus' up in Jax, AL.

Whatever you do, only attempt shaving with a true Damascus blade if you have a blood donor handy. Wanna cut a Manila rope - great!

Here's my damascus 110. No, I don't carry it.

That knife was probably one of the last ones out of the custom shop before they discontinued the older carbon steel damascus a few years ago.

Tom, Good photo also. I also like the way you picked the materials and constuction design in your custom order.. 300$s

Custom Shop 110, Damascus blade, cherry handel, nickle bolsters. Christmas gift about 5 yrs ago, (ex wife), and used occasionally, mostly out of my knight stand drawer. Stays extreamly sharp.
