damast and thuja

Here's one I finished a few months ago. I like the profile of the knife a lot.

The damast is made out of 1.2842 and 1.2767, the core is C70 (swedish steel). I forged this together with Gudy van Poppel, my teacher in making damast. The handle is thuja wood and has a mosaic pin and brass pins in the butt. The guard is made of iron that has a "rustic" finish.

As I said, I forged this knife together with Gudy and we didn't have any particular model in mind. this is just the result after some hammering. I think it's the way the anvil wanted it. It's plain fun to see what happens, when you start hammering and don't have a specific goal to work to.

Thanks for watching.

Greetings Toni

I really like it :D great sleek lines, the subtle emlishments to handle & antique guard really set it off.
What's the size?
Keep up the good work.

Absolutley lovely knife, very very nice blade. Do you by any chance make blade blanks or have any for sale? Would really like to make a knife with such a beautiful blade.

I like this one a lot. The pattern weld steel looks great. You did a fantastic job on the handle, and the guard works perfectly on this design.

thank you all for the comments. Mitch13 the totall length of the knife is 10.5 inches.

Raist, I do not make blanks for sale at this moment. Because I have a fulltime job, I use my spare time in making complete knives. I'm sorry.

greetings Toni
