My good friend Gudy van Poppel forged this damascus bowie. for the blade he used three pieces of damascus and made a damascus san mai with it.
The sides are made out of a 100 random layer billet of O2, 75NI8 and gunbarrel steel. The core is a 50 layer billet made out of O2 and 75NI8.

Totall Length: 40 cm. Blade 28 cm, 5 cm wide, 7,5 mm thick. The handle is made from Turkish walnut.

Hope you like it, here are the pics:

Beautiful damascus - beautiful wood for the handle - great craftmanship from Gudy. Very nice knife!

Kind regards,

Jos

The new owner of this knife visited me this week and allowed me to chop up some wood with it. The knife handles great, very good balance and a good grip (no hot spots).
