My good friend Gudy van Poppel made this sub-hilt fighter. He mailed me these pictures and just had to show them to you. It's a damascus blade with just over 200 layers. this time he used russian tankbarrel steel as part of the damascus. Then he grinded a sun ray like pattern in it.

The handle is made out of cocobolo and a combination of 200 year old iron and nikkel.

well here are the pictures:

Very nice and unusual. Notably 'Euro' in styling. Flowing and organic.

I like the tankbarrel display. Really adds drama and authenticity to the piece.

Thanks. Tell Gudy he is appreciated. :D
