My latest Project is a large fighter that has a Damasteel blade with a Koa Wood and bronze handle.
A small Damasteel and bronze detail is attached to the pommel with bronze rivets.

The blade is 250mm (10") long and 8mm (3.14") thick, the spine is fileworked and has a bronze inlay that starts inside the guard.
Overall lenght is 400mm (15.75") long and it weighs 630gram (1.39lbs).

The open spine sheath is wet molded around the knife and it has Damasteel and "forged" bronze details.

Really fun and inspiring project. First time working with Koa for me, but absolutely not the last!

Any and all comments are as usual more than welcome.

Thank you for your time!

Regards
/Magnus

I dont even know what to say here, this is breathtaking and has left me wordless! Thats beautiful! Amazing workmanship all around! I love the bronze inserts in the spine and the butt. It looks extremely comfortable to hold. Fantastic sheath as well! Everything is just so well made.

Thank you all for your comments, very appreciated!

bluejaunte, no I am not yet a full-time maker! But I look forward to it one day :)

Magnus - That's .... that's...... It is the ..... You are the most....

Well, I'm out. I just don't have a superlative that'll work for this one.

Here, have an emoticon. :

In all seriousness, I derive an incredible amount of influence in your work Magnus. This is another, in a long list of pieces, that adds to the inspiration you have provided me(and many others) over the years.

Thanks for showing us this wonderful piece.

Looks like outside the box thinking here. I would really like to hold this one in my hand to get a feel for it. One thing that has me a bit mesmerized is the tilt on the Damascus pattern. I do not think that this is an optical illusion of the photograph, is it? Assuming not, then what was your thinking and know did you decide to set the angle? Whatever the case, I find it pleasing.

my breathing slowed and I think my heart skipped a beat. What a wonderful creation!

Great knife, Magnus-san !
I like the combination of the damascus and the beautiful wood very much.
And your sheath is also very wonderful as always.
