This is my first post here, so hopefully this is an acceptable use of the forum. I ordered Damasteel to make my wedding ring, so I went ahead and ordered enough to also make myself a knife. This was my first effort at making a ring and my first time using Damasteel/RWL-34. The steel is very impressive looking, and it was incredibly easy to work with in its' annealed state. I make knives as a hobby, so all feedback/criticism is greatly appreciated!
I couldn't get a photo to upload, but the link below should work.
Details:
Overall length 8 3/4
Blade length 4 1/4
Steel Damasteel Vinland pattern; 4mm thick x 1 1/4" wide
Finishing -- HT & 2 tempering cycles w/ cryo treatment per Damasteel website (59-61 HRC); Acid etched; boot insignia on grind
Scales Spalted/Curly maple; stabilized & finished with tung oil
Mosaic pins and lanyard tube copper/brass
Sheath handmade kydex/leather with timber rattler inserts (killed and made by me)
