I was slicing up some firewood for the fireplace today and *SNAP* I guess I must have wiggled my spear-point Opinel #8 a little too much because it snapped right on the "L".

I really liked this knife but I guess I just pushed it too far. Can anyone recommend a good quality "survival" type knife that could handle this type of work?

a good survival knife?? i've seen some grade A china steel fixed blades for $10.00... what a steal!!!!
 
i saw a great deal on a desert satin jack on the ebay site today, it would be awesome for your porpose! ;)
