While I will stick with my Panasonic electric that razor is quite delightful. Might be fun one day to add a set such as that to the collection. Then again I was a long time fan and reader of a series of Westerns title Edge. If you are at Blade, I'd enjoy seeing things in person.

Absolutely gorgeous Butch. That would be a dream to use.

Love the wood, steel and the design. If it shaves half as good as it looks its a winner.

i dont think ill make blade thi year but i do want to get back to it (great time ) had i not starteed shavign with a straight razor 5 years ago i wudl not have ever thgut it was a good thing

i ll not look back once learned smooth shaves and way less waste (dont hurt that my shave soap cost em less the 10 $ a year

ANOTHER beautiful razor Butch! The brush is VERY nice also. That is a SWEET shaving set right there!

Beautiful set, I like your work.

Butch, we are not far apart, I live in Hagerstown. I am a member of the W. F. Moran Foundation, you should come over to the Shop/museum.

It will be open 6 April 10-4.

Gorgeous combo. Have you ever tried shaving with one of your damascus knives? If so, how does it compare to 52100?

i shave witha razor about evey other day for the last 5 years
the plain steel edge is better to keep things smooth (the weld boundrys make a sub 1 micron edge hard to acheave
52100 is nice and smoothe but 15n20 (this ones edge) might be slightly more smooth
i am getting ready to make a bunch in cts xhp and it should be the smoothest shaveing SS i have tried yet

I think maybe Hitachi white paper steel would take a fantastic razor edge, I've yet to come across anything smoother.

This will be interesting. I know about 52100 and was thinking of having a razor made of it. I'll be anxiously waiting to hear your thoughts on the CTS XHP.

for those that want carbon steel i have Carpenter B52 (triple melt ESR 52100) i know tho that there are many that woudl like to have SS in the bathroom but finding the right alloy and fine grain + heat treat for SS can be tricky (often the shave is jsut not as smooth and this is why i cant wait to make a few in XHP)

white paper steel if i coudl even get it woudl be neat to try but im not sure how it does about rust (B52 has just a touch of alloy in it to keep it from being to reactive

Beautiful set Butch.
I really like the idea of the matching brush and razor.
Ever since you started making razors I started looking around and I haven't seen others that come close to what you are making.
