Heard a click and suddenly the lock felt lighter to pull on...

Do you think benchmade takes repairs from overseas?

Alright...i'm 99.5% sure the omega spring broke...i poked around with one of those spectacle screwdrivers and one side was moving freely. damn it.

So...if anyone from overseas has sent in a BM for repair could you share some info on how i should go about sending it in.

Barely a year old...i think i got it in january this year...
The hardest i've used the knife is cutting up some cardboard...so it isn't really an abused knife...

This is really depressing me...

Now the 556 will have to be my EDC...

damn...I sold my axis lock because of that too...where I buyed it my friend said they had far less return of products with their liner locks...

Yes Benchmade will take repairs from overseas.

Yes Omega spring occasionally break. Out of the thousands of Benchmades being used daily by members of these forums I have heard about it probably 10 times, so it's definitely not a "problem".

I have been using Axis locks on a regular basis since they've come out and currently have about 20 in my knife chest, never had a single spring break.

It's somewhat rare that it happens.

I haven't lost my confidence with Benchmade...I still think the axis lock is the best lock out there for EDC use...things happen...

I'm just worried about how i'm going to send it in for repair as well as the thought of not having my favourite knife in my pocket...

If you get in touch directly with BM, I think they will indicate you the steps you need to perform to send them back your knife, and how it should work with the warranty coverage...
Keep it simple :)

Yes, BM´s rep. dep. will tell you. Maybe you contact the oficial dealer for the UK. The german dealer is doing little repairs for nothing more than own shipping costs and it goes faster. Maybe that will touch the warranty. So, if the dealer is willing to do the job for you. Ask BM back, if that is going right. Maybe they give you an ok.

That´s what i would do. I sometimes pointed BM at this, they should get people in other countries to do some little repairs. They didn´t answer, but maybe this time, they are going to be "world class" :D , they might agree.

I decided, if a spring breaks, i will ask a watch-maker, maybe for watches there are tougher materials. But that is just for my own pleasure.
