I know I said it would be a while before I made my next sheath for my BK2, but TwinStick's idea he threw in on the last sheath I made just got me thinking. So last night I decided to make another sheath. And since I only have enough leather left to make a smallish sheath for the BK14, I'm sure this (or maybe one for the 14) will be the last one for a while. I might have to sell one or both of these to get more material to make more. I'm just having too much fun with this to want to stop.

Enough talking pictures.

That nylon strap is sewn onto the sheath.

The belt loop is removable from the D-ring so it can be worn directly on my belt.

The belt loop is actually riveted to the sheath. I didn't want to worry about cutting the thread of the belt loop so I riveted it on. Moose I was looking at pix of your M1 for ideas how to put mine together. I'm thinking though that I'm going to have to figure out a way to be able to detach and reattach the leg strap. Any ideas on that would be appreciated. I know it looks rough. I haven't sanded the edges or waterproofed it yet either. I'll post pics after I do that though.

Looking good man!

You could use a chicago screw for your leg strap. It appears that you already have a hole in the end of the sheath, so you could just put one through there.

Thanks guys!!!

Ya know I used those on the last sheath. I should have thought of that. :o

Thanks Flexxx!!!

So I decided to give the sheath a little color and water proof it a little bit.
Here is how it turned out; along with the last one also. It was sealed with Hubbard's boot grease.

With the flash.

Looking real good man, keep at it. Along with all the other things I want to try, leather work maybe in the mix now, thanks.

Your sheaths sure are getting better! :) If you plan on making more may I recommend some tools to help you out:

#1 An Adjustible Groover, this tool makes a groove that follows the edge to tell you were to stitch.
#2 Over stitch wheel #5, this marks where to punch or drill your holes.
#3 Edge Beveler size 3, knocks the 90 degree edge off to help in rounding the edge.
#4 Sand paper 220, 320 and 400, used to round and polish the edges once you've used the Beveler to knock the edge.

These 3 simple tools along with the sandpaper will help give your sheaths a more polished look. A drill press really helps get the holes straight up and down, but is only worth it if you plan to do lots of leather working or have another need for it. There are other tools and tricks to making sheaths look better. Feel free to email me or post in the Sheaths & such forum for help.

Looks like you're on your way to getting good at it. Keep it up!!

Nice work, i like the ink finish. Nice leather, i like it. I prefer the first one style, but you are going to become a pro !

Thanks!! I do want to make more, and I've been thinking about getting those tools. I did also just get a small drill press from a buddy of mine, so I might give that a shot. What size drill bit would you recommend using? I don't want to take out too much material.

Thanks my friend. I guess I really don't have a favorite yet. I need to get out in the bush before I can make a decision about which one I like best. I actually used boot polish on it to get that look. I like how it turned out.

Outstanding work !!! Great job. Now-----tell me that with the swivel mod to the sheath, it ain't the most comfortable way to wear it when working, standing, sitting, squatting, getting into or out of vehicles, or atvs, or hell, even riding a bicycle ?

It is really nice wearing around. I really don't notice I have it on my side because it just not in the way as it might be with other sheaths. I think everyone should have one just like it.
Thanks TwinStick
