I just say a sharpened piece of steel by Phill Hartsfeld on sale for $625, no handle, just an edge. I have no doubt that he put a fair amount of time in, BUT DAMN, no handle!!! It's just a straight piece of steel!!!!!!
IMO, some expensive knives are worth it, but many aren't.
(Sorry, move to W&C, please)

"Expensive" is a relative term. Have you seen the 'beater' Scagel folder over at Arizona Custom Knives for $26,500.? ;)

Do a little shaping to the "handle" and put a few nice slabs of micarta on there and you've got a nice knife. Don't think I'd pay that much for it... but with a little attention to detail, in the hands of the right handle person, they could easily fetch that much.

Sorry, but this shouldn't have been in Community to begin with. :p I will place this in the Blade Discussion Forum. Please remember that any knife related topic does not get posted in Community.

But I'm whining, can't you see that?!?
Anyhow, maybe we should get a "most overpriced" knife thread going. C'mon, join the fun!

May be wrong but this looks like one of Tom O'Dells custom knives that comes in a Frost knife set that averages about $1.50 (or less) per knife on the Knife Show late at night.

Makes me think that Tom really does have some good deals (not.) ;)
