:D

Well, after reading so many positives I have taken the plunge and purchased a large 2009 Limited Annual Sebenza with Box Elder inlay.

It is a fair chunk of change but and I intend to use this as an EDC! A dollar a day for a year and three quarters :D

I love my Zubeng Tamahagane fixed blade hunter when in the bush but wanted a high quality folder for everyday city use.

It should arrive next week - here is a pic.

Very Nice. Congrats on getting a very fine knife. I love the shape of the annual inlays. They have more surface area to show off the patterns in the wood or ivory.

THanks, I agree - the extra surface area and figure of the wood was the clincher with me on this one. For me personally this is a good balance of function and form.

I think it will be a nice touch that in 30 or 40 years time when I am beginning to lose my memory the knife has the big 2009 on it to remind me how old it is. ;)

That is a fantastic knife. Congratulations and well done.

I have a prediction, however. Once you've had this one for a couple of weeks and really begun to appreciate the quality of the product, you're going to want another one to "beat around with", and save this beauty for special occasions.

Then you're going to want something sort of "in between" to carry when the work knife needs a rest and the "high-fahlootin" one won't quite fit.

Then you'll look at the other amazing inlay options, like mammoth bark, ironwood, etc. etc. and decide you like the look of those too.

Then you'll start taking them apart, examining the extraordinary simplicity and versatility of the thing, and start thinking about customizing one to be exactly what you choose with a graphic or stone inlay......

yes, damn this forum.......

I bought a Large regular a couple years ago for an EDC....my only regret? Not buying a graphic or limited model!!!....You will NOT regret the "fair chunk of change." I thought I would, too, but now I wish I spent more!

... thanks for all the positive comments!!!

Do these Limiteds come with a pouch/slip case?

Also just out if interest, I wonder what they will be doing for the 2010 Limited  What month do they normally bring them out?

Here's the skinny from CRK on the LE annuals, at least as far as Heather was able to tell me. The LE's usually get distributed to dealers around October-November. To get one directly from CR in 2010, you need to place your order soon (meaning now if possible) to have your place reserved. Around June or July, they will decide what inlay options will be available and get with the people ordering to finalize their orders. If you want a damascus blade, you should tell them earlier in the year because they takes longer for CR to get to their shop.

Hope this helps.
