With apologies to Alfred, Lord Tennyson:

Spammers to right of them,
Spammers to left of them,
Spammers in front of them,
Volleyed and thundered.

I have had to boot some off of NetSword this past week and I saw that Tinker Pearce had to boot some off of his Forum last night. We seem to be at the height of "spammer season."

I went to the Brittish blades site and ever since I have had hundreds of e-mails from their area. Always with a @yahoo.uk address . Seems everyone that sends me something knows someone who has died and wants to give me money. Always the same old line and I get so tired of haveing to use the delete key.

The ones that I had over in NetSword wanted to sell used cell phones from Nigeria. You got that right, Nigeria.

The phone spammers have been hitting us pretty hard lately. Haven't seen the racist spammers this month. I think they go on a long circuit of places to spam and it takes them a while to get back to us....

Jay, what are you using for a spam filter? If it's all on the same theme it should be easy for a filter to handle.

We seem to be. A golf forum I visit is getting hit by spammers almost every day, sometimes several times a day.

Report the Yahoo addresses to abuse@yahoo.com You'll have to right click the email click on properties, copy and paste the details to the forwarded spam. Yahoo does get after people using thier domain for spam, they also go after people forging yahoo as an address. It will stop pretty quick if you do that, plus get Adaware and Spybot Search And Destroy, both free spyware detection programs and run adaware right away. Delete anything itcomes up with.

I have a friend in the UK that sends me emails and she uses lots of emoticons. They're all loaded with spyware. I have to sweep my computer every time I open one of her mails.

Thanks for the reminder. I used to be assiduous about running both of them, but since I upgraded to Windows XP, I didn't reinstall the latest versions.

Now I have.

Lucky I don't click on all sorts of ()@& to be picking up the worst stuff! :)
