How To Damsacus patterns fade away

I bought this Bob Kramer 2 months ago, and the color of the patterns changed. Is it normal? or Is there any way i could fix it?

In order to redo the pattern on Damascus it has to be acid etched. How you do it to get the same pattern and colors back, though, I can't say. I don't know if you can do Damascus etching like acid etching with ferric chloride available from most electronic stores.
