I know Daniel Koster is a busy individual nowadays, but I sent him a blade blank to grind bevels into. I harrassed the heck out of him even though I told him to take his time. :D He probably hates me now, but damn he does a nice job when he gets around to it. :thumbup:

The blade is 10" of A2 (15.5 overall I think), designed by me and waterjet cut out of .25" thick Starrett A2. Dan masterfully ground the bevels. Apologies for the crapola pics:

It's off to Mr. Paul Bos for HT. I have some Macassar Ebony for the scales if it survives heat treat.
 
Love the design. Drill some more weight reduction holes in that tang, before you send it off for heat treat.
 
I was going to offer to drill out the tang - I think we did talk about this, right?

But IIRC, it balances great without it. On the longer blades, don't want too light of a handle.

It wasn't very easy to grind....but very satisfying when it was done!
