Looks great Dan. For me, I would prefer a little less belly on a fighter, but this is a beauty none the less. I love the guard and the way you did the handle. From what I can see the grind work is excellent.

Hey neighbor...
Beautiful knife and a great website.
You want to give some lessons????

Walnut Fighter??? You're KILLIN' me!!!! :) :) :)

This is my very favorite of your astoundingly beautiful knives. I really like the spacer breaking it up just a touch. Just perfect.

Derrick--do I sense a probable arrival of a new knife at your door?? You seem to be tipping your hand!!! Lucky guy.

Coop - I'll be sure to describe that beautiful walnut in graphic detail when I have it in my grubby little hands :)

Just stop it, Dan, you are making the rest of us knifemakers look weak:D

Very nicely done Dan!!!

I love the lines, I love the handle work... Couldn't ask for a more pure, clean fighter.

Keep it going Dan! :D

Very, very, very nice. That knife is right up my alley. Very clean lines. Great job!

Dan,
You never cease to amaze me! You really have found your niche in life. A beauty my friend!

Nice score, Wulf! Excellent looking knife you have there. Kudos to Dan as well for putting together such a sweet piece of steel.

That is just a terrific looking knife Dan. I also like the subtle way you broke up the scales with the spacer..., classy touch! Really beautifully done piece......thanks!

The handle looks a bit shiny because I had just put some mineral oil on it. That said, it should be noted that Dan can do things to a piece of walnut that you wouldn't believe. You simply have to hold it in your hand to know what I'm talking about. Moving it around under the light you see such depth and layers of color and shading that you think you're looking at a woman's beautiful, silky auburn hair suspended in water in the very palm of your hand.

I almost forgot - full specs:

Blade: 8" long, 1 3/8" wide, 3/16" thick forged 5160, differentially heat treated
Handle: 5" walnut with nickle silver spacer and guard. OAL 13"

Derrick!
Ya see, it's pics like this that drive me crazy! I gotta win the lottery... this one would look so nice next to a few we've seen recently: a beautiful rendition of a fighter styled bowie...
Hmmmm.... I wonder if my collection direction is gonna face another change?!?! LOL!!:D I haven't had a chance to actually handle one of Dan's yet... but I will eventually! :)

Holy cr@p Wulf - you got that one too  ? Yer killin' me! That's a beauty - thanks for sharing the pic with us.

Roger

PS - very poetic description of the colour and texture of the wood  .
