Dan Farr Shop Visit

I took a trip to Dan Farr's shop this weekend. We forged some knives (my first), chopped some stuff up, and shot the bs. Despite it being a pretty windy day we had fun. I brought my collection and Dan brought his...his collection is outstanding. Lot of pics to come.


Here is a shot of the forge

Here is his power hammer. Dan forged the hunter I have on order on it. It wasn't as loud as I expected it to be.

Here is the knife I forged. Dan told me exactly what to do...I pretty much swung the hammer- that's why the knife looks like a knife ;).

Here is a hunter Dan made. I used it a little and it did great on everything; rope, fuzz sticks, and some light cutting.

Ok, this sucks! I can't see any of the pictures posted by Matt. It doesn't work when I cut and paste either.
 
Great stuff. Dan is a gem of a guy and you've had a very enviable experience.
 
Sounds like a whole lot of fun - thanks for sharing the experience. Oh, and I think that bowie looks great!

Pictures don't work for me either. Oh well... guess I'll just have to get in the car, head West a few hundred miles, and come knockin' on Dan's door. :D
 
Looks like a great time! Those pics show the finish on Dan's handles as well as any I have seen.

I still can't see the pictures. It would be nice to know why some people can and others can't.:confused: Oh well, something else to blame Bill Gates for.
