Anyone know if Dan Harrison ever made any knives for Buck? I know he made several different models for Kershaw over the years. I'm wondering if he made this knife for Chuck Buck personally, or if he was possibly pitching it as a potential production knife.

Check this out. Post #7 from CJ. I'm pretty sure he was refering to the one in your picture.

Yep, that's the one. However, I didn't buy it for any real or imagined Buck connection. Any stag-handled Dan Harrison is a great buy at $75. Harrison made several different series for Kershaw in the late 1980's-early 1990's. He made all of their #4070, 4071, and 4072 bowies. Those all had laminated wood handles. He also made a series of three stag-handled knives for Kershaw that are somewhat similar to this one. Those are nice knives, but the stag wasn't dried properly and many have handle splits today.

He first listed it at $100 BIN. When it didn't sell, he dropped the price $25. I was considering it just because I liked it's looks, but it sold before I made up my mind. I'd ever heard of the maker, just sorta liked the knife ( but not $100 worth). It's a nice looking piece no matter who made it.

Harrison is a well-known maker from Texas. He's been around for quite a while and has gotten quite a bit of recognition in the past. He designed "The Solution" survival knife which was Blade Magazine's knife of the year sometime in the 1980's. He also designed "The Fisherman's Solution" and sold both designs to ALCAS (Cutco, Case). I think Cutco is still making The Fisherman's Solution today. It's a great knife for anyone who fishes.

Yes Dan did make knives for Buck. I am taking knife making lessons from him right now.
