We met Dan Stucky at the Montana Knife Maker's show in Missoula last August, buying one of his custom 'Ochoco Hunter' drop-point skinner models on the spot, and immediately placing an order for six more!

Dan is winning awards left and right up here in the Pacific Northwest for his Loveless influenced knives, and is now sold ahead at least one year - our six ordered knives were picked up at the Eugene, OKCA show this month, and all are very freakin' cool

I've posted a few pics below, and here are descriptions for two of the six...the sizes are the same on these two - only handle material and weight are different. We also have similar sized models in 154CM, along with 8% larger and smaller versions in same...

"Made from 3/16" hand polished S-30V steel, this new tapered tang integral guard hunting knife weighs in at just 4.3 ounces! With a double stitched hand-welted leather sheath, stainless steel handle pins, lined lanyard hole & leather lanyard, and palm-swell stabilized Spalted Maple wood handles, this very cool custom knife not only looks good, but is ready to get to work like right now!

"Standard sized 'Ochoco Hunter' Knife Made from 3/16" hand polished S-30V steel, this new tapered tang integral guard hunting knife weighs in at just 4.4 ounces! With a double stitched hand-welted leather sheath, stainless steel handle pins, lined lanyard hole & leather lanyard, and palm-swell stabilized Desert Ironwood handles, this very cool custom knife not only looks good, but is ready to be put to use today! With an OAL of 8-3/8", and blade length of 3-3/4", the nearly 1:1 handle to blade length ratio follows closely in the classic Loveless drop-point style, with added flair!"

Anyhoo, short story long, these Stucky knives rock! Impeccable fit and finish, fully handmade by one maker start to finish (including the heavy-duty leather sheaths), custom made all the way, fully warrantied for life under normal use field conditions - very good stuff!

How about you guys, have you had any experience with Dan's uber-cool drop point skinners?
