It's expensive!!!

Well....I look at it this way:

It's either McDonalds for cheap/quick food....or a nice sitdown place & the fancy stuff.

It's a pain taking kids to any sit-down place...so, I figure...might as well make it an "experience".

So, we hit the local Japanese Steakhouse...:D

Before we set out...kids were down-n-out (for them, McD is "play time").

By the time we left Shogun's....the boys were asking if they could come back for their birthdays. :D

My MOTTO = Work hard, Play hard. Unless you can't work (like today)....then just Play Hard. :D  :p

I know EXACTLY what you mean, Dan. I also have a family of 6. Going anywhere is a challenge, but hey, I guess that's all part of the fun. The bright side is that we're gonna get a bunch of coin from Uncle Sam to "stimulate' the economy.... LoL...

I'm approaching the 'other end' of a family of 6. One gone and one going in the foreseeable future.

Yes, it has been quite expensive.

But it's all been worth it.

When they've all gone, I shall be quite the unhappy dad. :grumpy:

<Hopefully, they won't mind the occasional visit...>

Cripes I just have a family of 4, can't fathom having 2 more kids.

Right now I'm lucky with the boys being only 7 & 5. Once they hit teenage years & turn into bottomless food pits, we'll only go out to buffets.

What gets me is the cost of going to the movies. If you go to the movies often, you'd almost be better off investing in a big T.V & quality entertainment system.

You take them out to eat? Are you crazy, I don't even let mine out of thier cages!:D

Seriously, I have the last 2 out of 6 at home still. Everything is expensive, but I am starting to feel liberation and sadness at the emptying nest.

Good on you Dan for getting the family out and experiencing activities with you.

The new one in Fayetteville looks pretty cool from the outside. I haven't been in a while but it is always lots of fun and the food is great but due to the expense I rarely go there.

Well said, guys.

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my kids...and ENJOY spending time with them.

I just figure....go big and don't look back. :D

At least we didn't go to Fogo's...
(our equivalent is Brioso Brazil...which is next door to Shogun's...and is, both thankfully and sadly, closed now)

You guys are scaring me.

My 7 year old son is already a bottomless pit. We ate at Applebees tonight and he ate 2Cheeseburger and extra servings of applesauce. As soon as he got in the truck he opened up a granola bar. He must of worked up an appetite walking all the way out to the truck. And the boy's tall, skinny, with lots of muscles. I don't think he's got a tape worm. He's 4 year old sister is almost as bad. Really gotta start taking more overtime to prepare for when they are really hungry....
