"
A" knife"? ...
As in just ONE?!?
Just them I gived into the temptation ... (yeah. I know I'm weak ...)

stockman ... canoe ... barlow ... moose ... sunfish ... 110 ... 6OT/7OT ... Mora #1 ... Opinel n' MAM friction folders ... SAK's n' Scouts ...
There are others that are calling to me (in addition to more of the above mentioned) but so far I have managed to resist their siren song ... The Higonokami (Higo no Kami?) (with "blue paper steel") for example, has been singing so long, I fear I will finally give in and take the plunge next month.

There are a couple others I "need" a first and/or duplicate of, of course ...
"Celtic"/"Viking" knives, (a first 17~18 inch OAL Seax is high on my list, So's a couple more rustic forged knives by Toferner (and
possibly "Viking Brand".)
A
real Sgian Dubh with a carbon steel blade ("just like (maternal 10th great grandfather) had") ... a couple made in Sheffield with stag grips are calling ... but at over $100 ... it is a
little easier to resist their song n' dance ... I suspect the Ancestors had something a bit less fancy. I'll
probably end up with a SZCO damascus Sgian Dubh. ("Fancy" perhaps ... but 10+ generations ago, was it "uncommon" for the local black smythe to forge layered/"damascus" blades?)
I are not sure what the kilt wearing (Paternal) Welsh ancestors had for personal "every day" cutlery.
I might "bite the bullet" and save up half or so of what's left after rent for a "few" months, and order a Seax (and possibly a new kilt er two, and a better/nicer/larger Sporran) for my "Christmas present" this (and next) year.
