found one of those rare "old school" Ash 1 knives for sale.. can't pull it off now but maybe one of you are after one..let me know

Got it! Awesome knife. I didn't realize those were ATS-34 though. I'm a sucker for INFI. Thanks for the heads up though.

Is it the one on ack? If so it's an original steel heart . I know the knife. It's really a good deal. Think it was only sharpened once. It's in very nice shape. Just not new.

yes it appears to be an original Ash1 with the old school steel.. I'd think that would make it more appealing..for a collector.. I'm so tempted..but shouldnt..

So... It's an original SH1 as opposed to an Anniversary SH1.

.

Lmao, something like that. Piglets need educatin'. ;)

Folks, please remember that deal spotting is not permitted on BF...and this thread's leaning that way.

My apologies.. everyone lean the other way.. thanks for taking us to school Jaxx..
this was a Steel heart history lesson..nothing more :)

For the right collector you're right. I like to use my old knives and I just love INFI. Not an expert on ASH models so I wasn't aware they were made with different steels.

Robdude, it was many moons ago that I was corrected on a knife model, a HOFSH. I learned it as "HOGFSH", but it's definitely HOFSH. Most don't care about the little things, but we are now getting into new generations & anniversary models, and it behooves all of us to keep 'em straight, especially in the Marketplace/Exchange/Secondary market.

Old School ASH-1. Meh, got one.
SH-1. Oh yeah???!

Wording can make or break your sale unless your pix make up for it, but even if, and you don't know your Busse's, you might lose half your sale price. Especially if ya don't know what you really have. ;)

"Old school" ASH-1? I'll give ya 500. SH-1? Oh, more...mebbe twice the 500? (purely hypothetical talk here, not really offering).

BTW, I heard that the ATS-34 steel's HT was well done. Mebbe a SH-1 user could chime in on how they perform compared to INFI? :)

Ummmm.... HOGFSH! :p

Hey, leave me outta this 😜
On a serious note, it appears to be an original SH-1.
Nicely marked on both sides (not all are).
Great price fir sure I'd want close to double for one if selling.
A real piece of Busse history that's a must have for any collector.
The SH-1 launched Busse Combat being the very first model under the Busse Combat name.
If you are a collector this is a must have knife.
Just my 2 cents for the day

I think it is great deal on a SH1 even if it was sharpened. I do not see the stamp on the other side of the blade. Some had black lettering on the blade and some had stamps into the metal. I am not sure if that one is stamped or marked. I once had one of the marked ones. I kept the two I owned that are basically mint unsharpened and have stamps on both sides of the blades. I would not let them go for anywhere near that price.

I am surprised it is still there.
