Ordered a Navigator sheath from Spec Ops Brand since they were on clearance for my newly aquired NMSFNO, and it doesn't fit! The kydex is too narrow (blade width, not thickness). Back to the drawing board.

You might try pulling the sleeve, and hot molding it. You may be able to squeeze it to fit.

I would suggest a custom sheath....i had a few commercial ones...nothing really was great.

got a blk leather chuddybear rig for my SFNOs and it feels like a sheath that is worthy of such a great knife.

I have a spec ops sheath for my NMSFNO and it fits fine. Mine doesn't have the pouch on it, I don't know which model that is.

saw those on the website, but opted for the clearance model. hopefully I can pull the sleeve and smoosh it a bit wider. otherwise, I'll have to break out my own stash of kydex and try to offload the Spec Ops sheath.

I used a hair dryer on a Spec Ops insert and was able to fit it to an NMSFNO. Be careful not to get it too hot.

Your best bet is to remove hte plastic (not kydex) liner and dremel out the spine about half-way down. It'll fit fine after that.

You can certainly try and hot-mold it, but that plastic is VERY resilient to original shape AND there isn't enough inside circumference to fit around a SFNO.

Had the day off today, so I managed to get the liner pulled from the sheath. The liner was warped pretty good, so I fired up the oven to 275* and put it in for about 3 minutes to soften it up. The NMSFNO slid right in, so I bolted the liner back into the rest of the sheath, and life is better.

I used to own an ASH-1 and had a Chuddy Bear sheath for it, so I know what a quality sheath is. The Spec Ops doesn't really rate against the Chuddy Bear, but in that same regard, they are two different sheaths, one being a nice custom piece, the other a generic. For $25, it will do until I ever decide to upgrade.

Hopefully you do not take that same route with your 2AM call :D

huh? you lost me...

I believe that was a veiled reference to calling a prostitute.

Good to hear you got it to fit.

I do like the those sheaths, because you don't care as much about getting them wet, and they are easier on and off.
