Instead of magazines and ammo for my boom sticks, I'm finding that the little bit of discretionary money I have for that is buying H.I. products. Things are a metal version of crack, I assume.

I really need to slow down though. :D I have a long way to attain Ferguson status.

I think that maybe I have more blades than I actually need. And I just bought two more. Although I did use my hasiya & bamboo cutter to smak down some reeds today.... and cut up some cardboard boxes with my gool.

Still, I have about 30 HI products in the house. More than I can use. I'm getting a couple of racks to display the swords & the cooler khuks like the hanshee kothimoda & the dui chirra & big BDC & samsher & stuff. I'll have one awesome looking office...

Moblues sonds like my place. I've usualy got a kukri I'm sharpening out plus a bucket with others standing in it in plain view. I always wonder what folks think.

And yeah these things are addictive. Still planning on buying more.

Beats me opening the door for the Jehoviah Witnesses while honing an 18 inch AK. :)

Heh, think that's cool?
Next time they come try coming to the door naked with a Falcata in hand and yelling "THIS IS SPARTAAAA!"

Now they just roll up their magazine and stick it in my fence.

I pictured myself doing this -- now my keyboard is coated with my morning coffee - that's not right.

Actually the Spartans used a short leaf bladed sword so what you really need is the HI spear knife...only a few inches longer

I kinda doubt anyone other than one of us khuk knuts would stay around to argue the historical correctness of a falcata.

You don't need a crystal ball to see weapons/tools are going to be further restricted in the approaching Age. My knives and other tools are for my children (and for my own use today.)

Every child needs a decent education and a good khukuri.

I doubt very much a handmade knife from Nepal is going to be imported in very many nations if the UN has its way. If I were in my twenties today I'd have to ask myself if the same tools are going to be available when I turn 50? There may be a CNC type 2.5" folding pocket knife in the year 2040, but will there be a 18" 27 ounce WWll Khuk?

When I look at the American Rifleman Magazine's glimpse into the Past, and see M1 Carbines for 29 bucks in the early 1960's, I know my children will ask what the hell I was doing by NOT buying great arms when I could.

This is actually the last of the great days of arms for citizens. Surplus arms, knives still made the traditional way, modern production CNC arms available for private citizens; there is no guarentee for our future. There is a pan american arms treaty hovering around these days, which may ban reloading....they'll restrict tools which frighten them by increments, and blame the tools for failed social policies. And a HI khuk is great insurance against failed social policies.

Great to see you around, Munk:)

He certainly returned in a joyous frame of mind ...not! :p ;) :D

But I shake my head at not buying and keeping military surplus Garrands, M1's, etc. when they were going for peanuts back in the late 1970's. :(

As one of the younger generation who never had a chance at these deals himself (born in '86) I agree completely with munk. My dad had a Springfield 1903A4 he brought back from Vietnam, along with a few other guns; all were stolen or sold for liquor money (not by my father). Now I'm struggling to arm myself in Massachusetts. If I ever see a Garand for $100, it will be a fantastic day.

If you see a Garand for $100, it could only mean we'd had a revolution, Washington DC and Wall Street critters had been loaded on barges and scuttled along formerly environmentally sensitive coastline, and the price is expressed in a new, gold-backed dollar.

Thus, if you do see a Garand for $100, rejoice!

If you need help gettin rid of some of your HI blades, feel free to send them my way. ;)
